Abstract:

This article presents an overview of the All-Russian scientific conference with international participation “The 3rd Siberian Forum of Folklorists,” held in Novosibirsk from June 16 to 20, 2025. The event was organized by the Institute of Philology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Editorial Board of the bilingual academic series “Monuments of Folklore of the Peoples of Siberia and the Far East”. The article chronicles the scientific program, detailing the themes of the plenary session and ten sectional meetings. Three sections of the Forum were dedicated to significant anniversaries: the 130th birthday of V. Propp, the 100th birthday of the renowned Altai storyteller A. G. Kalkin, and the 90th birthday of S. P. Rozhnova, editor of the Russian translations for the “Monuments of Folklore” series. Also detailed is participant data, covering twenty-two Russian regions and ten countries of the near and far abroad. Consideration is given to the accompanying events of the Forum, including a photo exhibition, demonstration of ethnographic cinema, and book presentations, including the 35th volume of the series “Monuments of Folklore of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East” (“Altaian Folk Songs”, vol. 35). Finally, the article provides the text of the resolution adopted at the 3rd Siberian Forum of Folklorists and links to related media cover-age.
